Aluminum designer sloop

This aluminum design boat is just a little bit different and you notice that as soon as you sit in it. A beautiful design boat with sleek lines and yet it is extremely spacious and suitable for up to 11 people. The cockpit is deep and therefore safe for children. The boat has a high backrest and is therefore comfortable to sail for a long time. The boat is equipped with a connection for a cooler and a USB charger for your phone. On the back of the boat is a swim ladder for those who want to take a refreshing dip. There is a spray hood which can be opened or even folded down.
This boat can only be rented with a skipper, which is nice because then you can enjoy yourself and have a drink!

The appointments

Roel rents according to the ANWB Model Contract
Deposit of €35 or pay in full.
Cancellation policy: Free cancellation up to 48 hours in advance. If you cancel within 48 hours your deposit will not be refunded. In case of bad weather (a weather alarm, thunderstorm or wind force >5) you can cancel free of charge.

The rent is including fuel, so no matter how much sailing is done during the time you rent the boat, you pay nothing extra for the fuel.
Animals are not allowed on the boat.

Pick-up point

The boat will be handed out at the boarding point: Porcelain Harbour, Old-Loosdrecht.

Parking and Directions

If you go to "Oud-Loosdrechtsedijk 225" on your navigation, you will arrive at the Porcelain Harbour.

• Parking at the construction site or in roadside parking lots is free.
• You can also park diagonally across the street (parking lot) or next to the Albert Heijn (both free).
• If it is very busy you can still park near Horndijk 2, which is about 700 meters away (free).
• For € 6 per day you can park at Jachthaven Wetterwille (300 meters walk).

Haven't sailed (a sloop) before? Here are a few tips
The boat is propelled by a kind of propeller, which we call a propeller. You can only steer when the propeller is turning.
If the propeller is not turning (because the boat is in neutral or you are giving very little throttle) you cannot steer. Even if the boat is moving forward at that moment, steering has no effect at that moment because the propeller is not turning. This can be confusing at times, so it doesn't work the same as driving a car.

Make slow and small steering movements. When sailing, one quickly tends to make large steering movements. However, the boat needs a few seconds to turn through the water. If you steer too much, you will have to steer back again a few seconds later. Therefore, if you make too large steering movements, the boat will zigzag through the water. This is also different from driving a car where a steering movement has an immediate reaction.

Take a 'point on the shore' as your target, e.g. a tree, a house or a tower. This will prevent you from looking at the front of the boat all the time and making too many steering movements. If you take a point on the shore as your goal, you will notice that it steers and sails much more calmly.

Bring a cooler, on this boat there is a 12V (car) connection available for electric coolers.

Take sunscreen with you. On the water you burn much faster, you don't realize it in the beginning because there is often a nice breeze. In the evening you will find out that you are completely burned, prevent that!
